Perspective Show 2009

I was asked by Mark Knott to contribute a miniature teapot for the Georgia Invitational Perspective show. Two were choosen and I was very honored for the opportunity. Thank you Mark. In this picture you can see one of Marks pieces in the background. This is a great opportunity to see 50 of Georgia potters on display and for sale. http://www.perspectives09.myocaf.com/

Kiln opening...

It's a wonderful experience opening a soda kiln and to enjoy each nuance of every pot.

Carol and Connie headed up the test tile project of producing and displaying all the glazes offered at the Gwinnett Center for the Arts. Carol is standing by all her hard work and Connie took the picture, thanks for all you effort in this most needed project.

A Michael Sherrill Piece...

Michael brought with him to the workshop one of his pieces. This piece is a combination of clay, glass and bronze. I thought it was remarkable.

From Michael Sherrill Workshop

In May 2009 The Gwinnett Hudgen's Center for the Arts hosted a workshop with Michael Sherrill. In this video he demonstrated a carving technique using a tool similar to a wood carver hand tool.

Waiting for spray

I hope to glaze these two pieces this weekend, thanks to Vicki's firing I finished the cups!

Couldn't resist the picture but did resist the urge to push.

I couldn't resist this picture... and no kidding there was even food left on the buffet! HWY 316 was free of tickets for about an hour... 80 + mph...

I did have an urge to try a certain type of chain reaction but then I thought an age appropriate thought! NOT... plus Bart Simpson wasn't around to blame it on. My Policeman friend Mr. Scott didn't find much humor in my imagination, but he did say it would have been interesting. hummm
